I don't speak for him but a couple of things
Notice in his example once the price action goes into the green box The EMAs are starting to really fan out. Wait for that. notice that the 2nd touch/ flag break he has circled the EMAs are really placed nicely
If you don't want to wait for a later touch that's what your stop loss is for. A proper stop would probably be down only 50 cents or so. You Will always have loses so a good stop loss placement is almost as important as the strategy
