#iiturbanism Everything is changing rapidly. Is generic city for now can also be a generic city for the future?

[Minjung Ku @mjku1024]

@yleite95 It's obvious that money makes many limitation, so we need to figure out how to make best cityspace within any restriction of money

[Minjung Ku @mjku1024]

#iiturbanism How can we make people to give up design or comfort and rather choose sustainability when build their building?

[Minjung Ku @mjku1024]

@Haiyeon_Lee green building can also be a sustainable building. but should focus on maintenance to keep it cause it's hard and expensive.

[Minjung Ku @mjku1024]

#iiturbanism even streets only for pedestrian need a good transportation for easy access.

[Minjung Ku @mjku1024]

@Haiyeon_Lee Those should be a place for public, not limited on some privileged people

[Minjung Ku @mjku1024]

@neesha_na I agree about it. How can we judge that street crime is better than car accdient?

[Minjung Ku @mjku1024]

Chicago alley is neither for cars nor pedestrians. Without tearing down and building again, how can we change this place alive? #iiturbanism

[Minjung Ku @mjku1024]

@jmateusm_URB I think those two also should be considered too, because without using by people sustainability is no more sustainable.

[Minjung Ku @mjku1024]

#iiturbanism What if 'sustainable' is only about social system such as sustainable community without any physical bldg things?

[Minjung Ku @mjku1024]

@Haiyeon_Lee They don't focus on people's behavior but they just focus on number and want to fit them in a box.

[Minjung Ku @mjku1024]

Why do some succeed and some do not like in Pruitt Igoe, eventhough they are the same type of housing? #iiturbanism

[Minjung Ku @mjku1024]

@Haiyeon_Lee all things can be designed more sophisticated from small scale to large one.

[Minjung Ku @mjku1024]

If the demands of men and women for good space are different, how can we satisfy both for better cities? #iiturbanism

[Minjung Ku @mjku1024]

What makes city lively is not just about density but more about ppl's behavior pattern in the same space w/ same density. #iiturbanism

[Minjung Ku @mjku1024]

@Haiyeon_Lee People in various field should work together when planning a city. i.e. psychologists know more about behavior pattern than us.

[Minjung Ku @mjku1024]

@suramacosta I agree. That makes people isolated by city, and by each other. At the same time, people indulge in individualism.

[Minjung Ku @mjku1024]

Both sustainability and variability is required for city.Despite the architect design every detail, those can be an anachronism.#iiturbanism

[Minjung Ku @mjku1024]

@Haiyeon_Lee Inversely, maybe we can find the solution in other countries or in the past city cases.

[Minjung Ku @mjku1024]

People gather around city for better life, but that makes their life in city more miserable #iiturbanism
