@Ren_Henson21 Hi Rhenly!
To me, The Rock is an actor/entertainer; I had no clue that he supported Showering Love in this way! This makes him a great example of someone who is both a celebrity and a leader. Great post!
@nabeel_kazi_737 Hi!
Oprah is a great example of a celebrity who is also a leader. She is certainly known more for being a talk show host than for being a leader. However, this article perfectly displays her leadership skills. Great post!
@Cpkrutgers Hi Christina!
I had no idea that Selena was involved with these charities and mental health awareness. Additionally, I agree that she is considered a celebrity first, because she is most known for being a singer/actress. Great post!
Angelina Jolie is known primarily as an actress known for her roles in movies such as Maleficent and Tomb Raider. However, she could also be considered a leader since she was named a Goodwill Ambassador in 2001. This exemplifies the role modeling leadership competency. #LIDC90
@Ren_Henson21 Hi! I definitely agree with the article; it is imperative that business leaders utilize social media to the fullest in order to gain a wider audience. It’s really interesting to see how these platforms have changed the landscape of business!
@rjb349 Hi! It is really interesting how social media can make two people who are considered leaders seem completely opposite to each other. On one hand, AOC comes across as a true leader, while on the other, Donald Trump comes across as satirical. Nice connection to Ruben!
@rav_mitra Hi! I find it interesting how leaders can display their charisma through social media, even though several social media platforms are mostly made up of photos, videos, and text. This article definitely relates to Kahai’s article thst explains how social media affects leadership!
This article states that social media changes the leader-follower relationship. Being a follower is now much more selective; people choose who they follow online. This reminds me of Kahai's article which argues that the leader-follower relationship changed because of Web 2.0.
@izzyb00p Hi Izzy,
Catherine Russell is definitely a great example of a digital leader. She is supporting a great cause in bringing attention to the impact war has on children's education.
@PandyaUrjaa Hi Urjaa,
I also feel that Bill Gates is a good example of a digital leader. He exemplifies this idea of "social influence" because, being that he is one of the richest and most successful people in the world, I believe that people will definitely listen to what he has to say.
@ru_andrew02 Hi Andrew,
I agree that Bernie Sanders is a great example of a digital leader. He is supporting a great cause in helping the youth get involved with politics in order to secure a good future, and is also supporting other great leaders in the process!
AOC is an example of a leader with a big presence on Twitter. She actively protested the overturning of Roe v. Wade (and even got arrested for it), which exemplifies Kruse's idea that leadership comes from social influence instead of power. #LIDC90
