I fully support Gov. Abbott pardoning Army Sgt. Daniel Perry, following the unanimous recommendation from the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles.

Sgt. Perry has been sitting in prison since his conviction for exercising his right to self defense. Texans thank Gov. Abbott for reaffirming our Second Amendment rights and freeing Sgt. Perry.

She has called for a motion to vacate Speaker of the House Mike Johnson next week. @SpeakerJohnson is a good man and I thank God for him. I believe he may be the best Speaker we’ve had in this country for decades. He loves God and isn’t afraid to ask Him for wisdom. Each generation seems to think it has one up on the last. But I will say, my 16 and 14 year olds (the last two of five children) seem to have an inside track. They can look up virtually ANYTHING. They don't need their parents, siblings, grandparents, teachers or friends or SM for that matter, to tell them ANYTHING - because, they can look it up themselves. My role is to get them to think critically about EVERYTHING, and to always DOUBLE CHECK their "facts." To trust their gut. Aim to live life with no regrets. Be kind. Be distrustful. Be critical but not a critic. Smile. Laugh. Help. Be brave. Be cautious. Love. Be reverent. Appreciate the small things. Take good care of themselves. Fight. Never quit. Choose wisely. Never "hurry." Always have a plan (and at least one contingency). Give. Receive well. Save. Spend joyfully. Never lend; if you can afford it, give; if not, say "no." Never be afraid to say "no" or "no, thank you." Say "yes," only when you can afford it. Be YOU.
