The first global temperature data is in for the full month of September. This month was, in my professional opinion as a climate scientist – absolutely gobsmackingly bananas. JRA-55 beat the prior monthly record by over 0.5C, and was around 1.8C warmer than preindutrial levels.
We're hiring! PhD position in biomaterials Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) within our group, a project part of @ALIGNED_HE and @INRAE_France Research Chair on Sustainable Bioeconomy strategies. Apply before August 25th! Details here: https://t.co/msNgvQcQmc
@LennertGoemans Het werkt zeker.
@peter_dunsby@thyssenkrupp_en Methanol from biogenic feedstocks makes far more sense for the short term, but won’t be enough to decarbonize the entire aviation sector. We also need to fly less!
@peter_dunsby@thyssenkrupp_en Also, we will need massive amounts of green electricity for this, which will hardly be available for the next 30 years, as we need it for electric cars, heat pumps for the residential areas & industry, etc. all of which safes far more CO2/kWh and is much cheaper than e-methanol
Regering wil turbogroei zon-op-zee (3 GW in 2030) | relevante studie oa @WilfriedvanSark concludeert dat de opbrengst tov land +20% a -4% is | omstandigheden hebben veel invloed https://t.co/ieQGVsk0wA
Samenvattend. (15)

@UUCopernicus Well, I wish it was a succes story to tell. But an all day strike of the Avanti west coast train drivers stopped my ride at Euston station and forced me to take a flight from Heathrow. I still saved about 40% of the distance, but it still feels extremely unsatisfactory😒
