Trade Grades for the LaMelo Ball Trade
Timberwolves - A+++++++
Minnesota FINALLY gets an elite playmaking guard to pair with the Rudy Gobert timeline. One of the best passers in the league and a player who immediately serves as a great table-setter for Rudy's long rolls, Ant can play off the catch a bit more and Minnesota is WAY better than they were with Julius Randle. The defensive infrastructure can more than protect LaMelo. McDaniels will continue to defend ball handlers and LaMelo's positional size allows him to hide on wings
Hornets - D
The Hornets FINALLY had a good season and they stripped away the driving force of it. Little disclaimer here, high slips and ghosts to get Kon the ball in advantage won't work quite as well with a 6'0" point guard instead of a 6'7" guard
Unbelievable to me here. There's a good chance Minnesota conveys zero actual swaps in this deal because Minnesota is just simply better than Charlotte.
I like Naz for the Hornets which saves this from being an F, but man. Why.

In consecutive days, the Suns land multiyear agreements to keep two young guards in Goodwin and Collin Gillespie whom the franchise developed over the last year. Goodwin's agents at Klutch Sports, Shy Saee and Mike George, landed the deal Sunday, a week after free agents became eligible to negotiate with their own teams.
Next order of business for the Suns: retaining restricted free agent Mark Williams.
James — you were a force as a director, but what I'll remember most is the kindness you brought to every set.
I'll miss you dearly.
I'm still waiting to find out what a yellow light means...
Love,
Jim
Free agent guard Collin Gillespie intends to sign a four-year, $48 million deal to return to the Phoenix Suns, sources tell ESPN. Gillespie spent three straight seasons on two-way contracts after going undrafted out of Villanova in 2022 and now earns a lucrative long-term deal.
