EIGHT Afghan nationals have been charged with FORTY offences following a Norfolk Police investigation into group-based child exploitation.

The men appeared before magistrates in Norwich and confirmed their identities through interpreters and pleaded not guilty.

Police said ALL eight have refugee status. Six entered via small boats, one arrived concealed in a lorry and one came through a port.

• Ahmadin Ahmadzai, 20, is charged with nine counts of rape, two counts of conspiracy to rape, one count of facilitating human trafficking and one count of perverting the course of justice.

• Jamil Khalili, 20, faces seven counts of rape, one count of conspiracy to rape and one count of facilitating human trafficking.

• Fazal Auryakhel, 20, is charged with one count of rape.

• Qais Kaker, 20, faces four counts of rape, one count of conspiracy to rape and one count of facilitating human trafficking.

• Mohammed Farooq Shinwary, is charged with two counts of rape.

• Ali Ahamad, 21, faces one count of rape and three counts of facilitating human trafficking.

• Sayed Wahid Davodzai, 20, is charged with four counts of rape and one count of conspiracy to rape.

• Bilal Shinwari, 20, was returned from Ireland, is charged with two counts of rape of a girl under sixteen, one count of conspiracy to rape a girl under sixteen and one count of conspiracy to rape a woman aged sixteen or over.

They remain remanded in custody until the trial on 11 January 2027.
