The conflict in Iran was triggered by Israel and the US. To succeed, there should be a single shared vision by the two leaders. Instead, Netanyahu has a vision of erasing Iran and Trump doesn’t know what vision means, far less, the meaning of shared goals or objectives.

In the conflict in Iran, the U.S. is clearly the aggressor. The onus is on the aggressor to have a strategy before entering the conflict. But the US attacked Iran based on a whim, something unheard of in conflicts of this scale. It is too late for a strategy.
