FECH is a grassroots Civil Society Organization that aims to contribute to the enhancement of the quality of higher education and to empower students in 🇲🇰
🧵 OFFICIAL STATEMENT
After publicly denouncing the unlawful promotion of Arbresha Bexheti Ferati, wife of UT Senate President Kenan Ferati, our platforms and staff have become targets of an organized campaign of intimidation and defamation.
@blendhodai This is no longer just an institutional matter.
All cases have been reported to the Sector of Internal Affairs in Tetovo. All necessary legal measures are being taken.
To anyone considering the same path: threats do not intimidate us. They confirm we are doing the right thing.
2/ Last night, things escalated. An individual — operating through fake profiles AND from his real account — sent offensive and threatening messages directly to family members of our Executive Director @blendhodai
@mkfech latest research shows that 18.5B denars in public funds go to public universities in 🇲🇰 much of it to academic and managerial salaries. Rectors earn €3–4K net monthly, yet their institutions consistently underperform. Can such salaries be justified under these results?
The Erasmus+ program should be led by individuals who embody inclusion, equality, and human dignity. Entrusting it to someone who has openly insulted minorities and women is not only unacceptable—it’s a betrayal of the program’s very mission. @MichalisRokasEU
We’ve sent a letter to @EU_Commission expressing deep concern over the appointment of Petar Bogojevski as Director of the Erasmus+ Agency in 🇲🇰. His record of hate speech — ethnic slurs, chauvinist and misogynist rhetoric—is incompatible with EU values.
Today, we are exposing the threatening and intimidating letter we received from the legal representatives of Koco Angjushev, a professor sanctioned by the United States.
#BanAngjushevfromUni
Democracy at risk!
Kocho Angjushev, blacklisted by the US for serious corruption, is trying to silence our activists through legal threats. We won’t back down. Corrupt individuals have no place in universities. Our fight for zero-tolerance on corruption continues!
🚨 Kocho Angjushev, a professor on the U.S. blacklist, is still lecturing at UKIM. Corruption has no place in education! We demand his removal and legal reforms to ban blacklisted individuals from universities. #nongrata#UKIM
On this International Youth Day, the @mkfech stands strong in our commitment to empowering the youth. We call on the institutions of North Macedonia to actively include young voices in decision-making processes.
It's time for immediate consultations on the educational reforms our country urgently needs.
As Richard Jefferson said, 'The youth are our future. We must protect and invest in them if we want to see a brighter tomorrow.'
As many young people feel disillusioned by politics and political leaders and misinformation is rife, it's vital to engage them in the civic life of their countries. Check out our 2023 Annual Report and the inspiring stories of youth activists like @mkfech https://t.co/GU15Y1mqh6

Higher education in North Macedonia has yet to pass the transition from the communist system. The question is when will this transition begin?
