Some time back, I read Ray Dalio’s Principles, and one story from it has stayed with me ever since...
In 1982.., long before Bridgewater became the world’s biggest hedge fund, he made a very public call on the markets and got it completely wrong, he lost money for himself and his clients, had to let go of almost everyone, and borrowed 4000 dollars from his father just to pay the family bills.
Out of that came his simplest principle: Pain + Reflection = Progress.
but what stayed with me most was what he did next.., from then on, he didnt surround himself with people who agreed with him, he went looking for the ones who'd tell him where he was wrong!
Most of us do the opposite..
after a setback, we go looking for the people who’ll tell us it wasn’t our fault.
Maybe the most useful people in our lives are the ones brave enough to tell us it was. If someone like that has changed the way you think, Id love to hear about them.
@mkchairmanindia It's part of why our programme started with teachers rather than student numbers. One teacher who changes how they teach reaches every class they walk into, and that rarely shows up in a headcount.
A few years ago, she was just a young student with big dreams and the determination to achieve them. What stood between her and those dreams was access to opportunities.
Because every child deserves a chance and every dream deserves an opportunity to shine.
@mkchairmanindia
Education is not just a program for us. It is the most powerful tool to rewrite destinies.
This is a new chapter, a clearer mission, and a deeper commitment. Join us as we build people, not just programs.
