@sociologyWV I actually thought "No Longer at Ease" was the more thought-provoking book in the trilogy for a host of reasons. The cross-cultural and religious syncretistic explorations in the book make considerably broader commentary about the human condition than one might initially grant.
@wyshynski I know they give these out to medalists, but it feels like a massive troll job by the IOC to hand out to silver medalists in Gold Medal Games.
@stoolpresidente Pretty obvious both US & Canada should've protested the structure of the 3 on 3 by refusing to play OT & ending the Olympics in a tie. They could then take a group photo w/ the prized stuffed animals instead of the medals. That way, neither team would "falsely" celebrate. No?
@PantherPourri is it perfect to have an impending trade hovering over the locker room most of the season? I know there's always the possibility of movement at the deadline, but this is more of an inevitable situation absent another player going on LTIR.
@MattWelch I know you're highlighting solo B. Wilson, but re: your "tasty morsels" comment, "Surf's Up" has to be one of the more unknown absolute gems he wrote for the Beach Boys. Whenever people are surprised that I put Beach Boys near the top of my list, that's a song I point to.
@JaglRock@GeorgeRichards yeah... don't want another Eetu Luostarinen "day to day" situation from 2023. At least Reino wasn't wearing a boot in the pregame line-up read video the other day.
@PantherPourri I'm really hoping you're wrong... though, in the playoffs these guys will try to play with "week to week" injuries if they can. Maurice always references Gudas only missing 10 minutes during the final when he sustained an injury normally requiring six weeks of rehab.
@DavidDwork@TheHockeyNews I'm hoping it's minor... though in the playoffs who knows what minor/major means. Maurice often talks about Gudas taking only ten minutes off for an ankle injury that generally requires six weeks of rehab.
@D_A_Irwin@nberpubs I finished this book recently and loved it. I'm going to be reflecting on it for a while. Any idea when "Trade Policy Revolution" is slated to come out? It sounds fascinating. I'll have to whet my appetite through Mshomba's "Africa and Preferential Trade" in the meantime.
