Victor Wembanyama needed Chris Paul in the finals, not De’Aaron Fox.
Replace CP3 with Fox, Spurs win the series.
Just imagine if CP3 was younger when he played with Wemby 😳
Ric Bucher calls out the hot-take media (eg Skip Bayless) who are quick to judge Wembanyama after one playoff run:
“Let’s also recognise, shall we, this is Wemby and the Spurs first taste of basketball ever. They’re not supposed to be on a stage this big yet..
And some of you want to declare who and what he (Wemby) is and isn’t right now, right in the middle of that growth curve.
It makes for content to fill a show, and I’m sure it attracts an audience, but it’s dumb and not all that useful other than to fill up airtime.. it sacrifices accuracy and true insight and authenticity for the sake of expediency..
I believe there is still an audience that values being provided true understanding of a sport. An audience that respects a sense of responsibility for putting out content that is meaningful and substantive rather than just incendiary.
Skip Bayless is now saying Victor Wembanyama doesn’t have the clutch gene because of how he has played so far in this series. I can’t prevent myself from smiling or laughing at that notion.. this just feels like clickbaiting for clickbaiting sake.”

Kendrick Perkins says the Spurs need to move on from De’Aaron Fox:
“They’re gonna have to find another place for him. Number 1, he makes too much money. Number 2, he’s getting in the way of Dylan Harper. That spot belongs to Dylan Harper.”
"Winning a championship is about starting quarters and ending quarters. The Spurs have not ended quarters well."
@TheJetOnTNT says he was disappointed seeing Victor Wembanyama and Dylan Harper on the bench.
Both Mike Breen and Richard Jefferson refusing to call this a double dribble on Knicks OG Anunoby right off the bat, is a terrible look for broadcasters…
The Spurs lost because they…
1. Didn’t know how to close a game
2. Allowed De’Aaron Fox to essentially play them out of games with his shitty decisions.
3. Had a coach who didn’t wanna hurt Fox’s feelings
Dylan Harper’s growth will be the most important development in the Spurs next step.
Wemby certainly needs to gain strength, stamina, & muscle. He was exposed, but the Spurs lacked a finisher on the outside… ie: Brunson. Harper showed that he can be the guy. Give him the 🔑. Kids gonna be a star. He has to be Kobe to Wemby’s Shaq. He’s 1b, from here on!
