Too many people are gonna be hung up on a Peralta extension.
More than fine just letting him pitch this year and giving the Qualifying offer to get a comp pick back if he leaves.
I’m sure they’ll talk extension but it’s not like a priority to me
@mlbrums If you look at this trade beyond this year, the Mets just offloaded 2 guys that would take up 40 man spots that they probably don't want on the 26 man, and they upgraded the 25 bullpen replacing Butto with Rodgers
Bader actually makes a lot of sense as a trade target. You know he's a clubhouse fit. You maintain the elite defense in CF with plus speed, and he at least raises your floor offensively (109 OPS+). 10 million mutual option next year. And shouldn't cost much to acquire
@stephencurry93@BigFrank1979 For sure there is the risk of regression to the mean. But they have to do something, you cannot continue to give Taylor everyday ABs or play McNeil in CF consistently
@metsfan8626 I think they should treat the deadline as if he is not coming back, even if he is, they shouldn't be expecting results offensively. I would love a much better CF bat than Bader, I just don't think there's one available. And you have to do something. Taylor is killing them
