Our schools matter to me, not just as a public servant, but as a parent. My children attend Shelby County Schools and I see every day how vital early education is.

I made clear that who we hire for this position matters - we need someone who will fight for our communities and be able to build relationships to benefit our region.

It was great to be with my Nupe family on at LeMoyne-Owen College for homecoming.
The past few months haven’t been easy for our family, but being surrounded by so much love and positivity meant a lot. My dad loved LeMoyne, spending Saturday there was uplifting & inspiring.
The New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and their incredible Community Development Corporation are leading by example.
Their work to expand neighborhood clinics, strengthen our schools, and invest in local resources shows the power of community partnerships.
I am grateful for the recognition I received and I plan to work with the community so that we can turn pain into purpose and build the future our children deserve. 3/3
