The effective federal corporate income tax rate:
1950: 50%
1990: 25%
2020: 13%
Stop asking "but how we will pay for it?" Restore the corporate tax rate.
That is how we will pay for it.
Call it what it is…
This is not a “conflict”…
It is a slaughter.
It is not a “just war”…
It is a genocide.
Killing children is not “self-defense”…
It is sick and twisted.
Killing civilians is not a “necessary evil”… it’s just straight up evil.
The truth is — Killing is wrong, no matter who does it. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
We must not repay evil with evil but “overcome evil with good”as Scripture says. Jesus shows us how to respond to evil without mirroring the evil.
This violence in Gaza is all about historic trauma, fear, and pain being transmitted into terror. The bullied have become the bullies. The terrorized have become the terrorizers. Hatred only begets more hatred just as violence only begets more violence.
The violence must stop. We will not build a peaceful world by killing each other’s kids. Love is the only way forward. For God is love.
Ceasefire now. Now. NOW.
It’s an unwed woman who carries God.
It’s pagans from the East who recognize God.
It’s the workers in the field who hear from God.
It’s the marginalized neighborhood who welcomes God.
It’s the Jewish baby, born in Palestine, who welcomes all.
Christmas is here
Let hope in
In Israel and Palestine the situation is serious. It pains us that the truce has been broken. I hope that all those involved may reach a new ceasefire agreement as soon as possible and find solutions other than weapons, trying to take courageous paths to peace.
The images coming out of Gaza are horrific. Netanyahu has resumed his genocidal bombing campaign. We need a permanent ceasefire now. End the apartheid. Free Palestine.
Join us at the White House on Monday!

First Israel denied attacking hospitals. Then they put out a cartoon depiction of Hamas HQ underneath a hospital. Then they bombed and shot up Al Shifa. Then invaded, killing babies in incubators. Now they put 10 guns on a rug and show us a laptop and say it’s all justified.
No. Sorry. They are not “collateral damage” they are human beings who happen to have been born there and live there and most of those human beings are stuck there. Have some compassion, they are Palestinians not buildings or roads or things, they are human beings and so are the hostages whose lives you may also be destroying. They aren’t “collateral damage” either.

Over 4000 kids have been killed in Gaza.
Killing kids is evil.
Ceasefire now.
Release the hostages now.
Stop the violence now.
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness…” -Isaiah 5:20
“I imagine that one of the reasons people cling to their hates so stubbornly is because they sense, once hate is gone, that they will be forced to deal with pain.”
— James Baldwin
I’m so sickened by the massacre happening in Gaza. No one can defend the atrocities of Hamas on Oct. 7. But no one can defend the violent retribution of the State of Israel. With the support of the US, and bombs made in the USA, and funds from the US, the State of Israel is bombing hospitals and homes, schools and churches… and cutting off the water supply to Gaza.
Killing kids is evil, no matter who is doing it. Two wrongs don’t make a right. Violence only begets more violence. Pain that is not transformed gets transmitted… The terrorized have become the terrorizers.
The violence must stop. We cannot build a better world by killing each others children.
I know there is a lot going on in the world. Sometimes I just need to focus on a few concrete things we can do locally to make a difference. And one of those is turning abandoned houses into homes for families who need one. We have 3 houses here in Philly that are ready to renovate… and we’re trying to raise $105,000 to make it happen. Let’s do this!!!

I bought @kevinfadler's new book, When We Walk By, a must-read guide for ending homelessness. Kevin runs @MiracleMessages, an innovative nonprofit tackling 'relational poverty' on the streets. I volunteered for them too! Excited to read it, you should too!https://t.co/LwstFx8hdr
Why is Social Security running out of money? Income inequality.
As inequality has exploded and the rich have gotten richer, more and more of their income has escaped the cap on the Social Security payroll tax.
We should be focused on fixing this, not cutting benefits. Hello?
There are many Congress members calling for ceasefire.
The choice to single out and censure the only Palestinian American is deliberate. It sends a clear message: Be silent.
Thank you for speaking the truth anyway: "Palestinian people are not disposable."
