@PSLToFlushing If it's even close there's no way he's coming to the Mets with David Stearns & his self created disfunctional organization they will have to overpay & far exceed any offer & if they do it's only an overcompensation to cover up Stearns prior mistakes creating yet another one
@JustinCLeto@Mets I also believe that David Stearns is the worst executive in MLB even if he can't blamed for Peralta there are many other things that he can be blamed for which has resulted in the Mets being one of the worst teams this year
@SleeperMets@Feinsand Just like any free agent is a potential target and if this is the type of free agent that the Mets are really targeting then it's going to be another long year
@DanBartels2 Hypothetical Mets finish in the standings in 2027 may also match the real finish in 2026 especially if Stearns continues to run this team into the ground #firestearns
@kbach54@MamdaniMets It's also obvious that his production is declining & will likely continue I don't see his contract aging well in the coming years which is going to be a problem for the Mets if the expectation is that he will play to the level of his contact in future years
@betsyffj If Stearns had any brains which he doesn't he would have tried to get him in the off-season instead of Siemien to play second base just like he should have kept Alonso or at the very least went after Murakami instead of Polanco to play first #firestearns
@PhlySprtsReprts@BNightengale It could be worse, the Phillies could have been stuck with David Stearns and ended up in last place at least you had a team to cheer for in the playoffs the Mets season realistically was over months ago
@SleeperMets F and as time goes on it's not likely to improve its time to begin planning to move on from him if we are going to build a championship team in the future
@SleeperMets@NYMhistory A date that will live in infamy the Mets have never been the same since he took over and only his departure will we begin to reverse the damage that he caused #firestearns
