@tosinmm_ Great read; thanks for sharing! I've got 3 gaps I wish USSF/MLS would create a plan to close. We won't ever fully close these gaps but would love to see 2-3x more pro clubs and 5-10x more kids in academies to reduce pay to play costs. Appreciate any feedback!
@EinSchwarzwelt Would love to see a USSF/MLS plan that closes these 3 gaps. We all want to reduce pay to play and using some real metrics and targets would help. What do you think?
@EinSchwarzwelt Agree 100% with all of this. Developing a consistently top 10 men's national team requires an open system with a unified pyramid and promotion/relegation. We all want to reduce the cost of pay-to-play but need more pro clubs that sell players to fund youth academies to do this.
@ianculltv@rolloqtomasi@DerekKXLY I went SB after the game but walked to Pioneer Sq and it was empty and got a seat on first train. Protip for next time!
@PaulSpacey Learning the foundation of deception and going against your opponent's momentum is such a huge benefit of teaching feints that I dont think gets taught early enough.
@PaulSpacey If I could do U9 and below again for my boys, would spend technical time 50% on simple feint and take with inside/outside of both feet, 50% on all other dribbling moves. Maybe a slight exaggeration but not much. Persianball on youtube teaches it the best I've seen.
@coach_kevin_m Good point! Dev benefit for my son's team is learning to create and exploit numbers advantages, in 2v1 midfield and 5v4 defending/attacking. Also our CB gets lots of 1v1 defending practice against opponent's striker and learns to use GK.
@coach_kevin_m My son's 2016 team has played a 321/141 for the past 3 years (u8-10) vs most opponents playing 231 and the biggest advantage is that they maintain good team shape to defend 5v4 and often attack 5v4 when they can break a line. They take advantage of the 2v1 in midfield really well
