Please give us a fair, draw, no opening round bs, 2 wks mid season byes, footy every week until the GF. 🏟️ Save Origin for a standalone weekend before the GF using only players not in the GF. Footy on dad’s day also. #AFL @1116sen @agerealfooty @AFLcomau @AFL @GerardWhateley

My idea for AFL opening round 2027. Fans in Perth, Adelaide, Sydney and SEQ get 2 games. Retains MCG blockbuster.

You get salty when you’ve allowed your own side to reach 669, then run out of time to bowl out opposition?

@mo53983742 @lilleyjohn @AFL @couriermail Brisbane Lions have 65,000 members and regularly outseats the Broncos and Dolphins on game day. Your point is 3 decades old

All manner of data and AI is available on weather in Brisbane in December yet CA schedule a Gabba Test one week before Xmas and it’s rain interrupted.

Dining logistics mandate lunch interval at a specific time but no catch up play earlier with sunrise at 4:45am, or later with lights is an own goal.

PM’s XI game Konstas makes 100 v 🇮🇳 . 🇦🇺 plays Boland but no other Test incumbents. Match practice is best practice.

We now have more red ball cricket before the summer Tests start, but players were rested from it before the Perth Test. Own goal.

Australia’s lack of succession plan in allowing David Warner to retire on his own terms last summer was laid bare this week.

Really, Tests at The Gabba in 1928, pretty sure the Don made his debut at the Exhibition Ground (aka the Ekka).

Marcus,Nathan or Josh, that is the question, tried and known, young and promising or brash and a belter?

Australia awakes from its slumber of no Tests since March. Takes awhile for the oil to be applied to the rusted joints.

Here’s a thought. If Josh Ingliss can bat, as an aggressive opener and is a decent wk, is the plan B, he opens, becomes the Test wk, number 7 becomes a bowling all rounder spot instead? #AUSvIND @CricketAus @cricketcomau @theagesport

[martin beare @mlbeare]

Josh Ingliss is captain for next 2 ODIs & 3 T20s v Pakistan to be completed before 1st Test v India. Bats aggressive, this is how Gillie became an icon. McSweeney is not a shoe in to replace Warner yet. #AUSvIND @cricketcomau @theagesport @CricketAus

[martin beare @mlbeare]

#AUSvsIND @cricketcomau @theagesport Ingliss bats right handed and aggressively which to me is better than 2 x LHBs as openers. He is also an ODI regular so will fit into team culture neatly. If he fails as a Test opener he still has t20 and ODI to fall back on. It’s worth a go.
