@billjamesonline Babe Ruth started as a left handed catcher at St. Mary's:
"I'd used the regular catcher's mitt on my left hand, received the throw from the pitcher, take off the glove and throw it back to him left handed,” he said.
@Steve_Sailer@billjamesonline Babe Ruth started as a left handed catcher.
He "would catch the ball on his left hand, toss the ball straight up, drop the mitt on the ground, catch the ball again with his bare hand and throw." He batted left & threw left, but wrote script perfectly with his right hand.
@billjamesonline How about left-handed catchers? It seems like slow guys with modest hitting skills have a shot at the MLB if they are right handed catchers, but no chance if they are left-handed.
