They made some thought provoking links between the caged bird and people who have been ‘caged’ in society both now and in the past. These are just some of the books that we have been studying in our reading and English lessons.

@BobCox_SFE @WestViewPrimary I am proud of how well they did! The way they could pull apart the poem for meaning was very impressive. I look forward to doing Sympathy after half term. I’ll get the permission forms and typed poems sent to you next week.

We loved studying the poem ‘High flight’ by the war poet John Gillespie Magee Jr. The children took inspiration from his poem to create their own, describing the flight of a spitfire during WW2. Opening doors, unit 10 - Dancing the Skies @WestViewPrimary @BobCox_SFE
