@JonHeyman The mets probably could have matched the dodgers but tucker is smart. Play for a perennial winner with world series chances yearly or play for a team for the same price that has shown nothing but failure and struggle to make the playoffs no matter the payroll. Hmm. Easy decision.
@JeffRatcliffe Just listened to your segment on the Washington RB discussion. Everyone is talking up Croskey-Merritt but I wonder if this is Rodriguez's time to shine at age 25 (depending on what happens to Robinson. He's no small potatoes in my opinion.

@StevenACohen2 Everyone blames the pitching which IS a problem. But billion $ spent on hitters, most of which are tickling .250. Have a NL batting champ in mcneil who hit .238 last year and .246 this year. There is an innate losing culture with the mets and i just dont get it. :(
@20Hojo You are my favorite Met! Growing up on eastern Long Island in the 80s I didn't get the chance to watch many Mets games on TV, but we had Bob Murphy and Newsday. I cut this pic out of the paper from opening day 1989. Any memories? BOOM!
KAINE on the Senate floor warning federal employees not to take the buyout offer.
"The President has no authority to make that offer. There's no budget line item to pay people who are not showing up for work...If you accept that offer and resign, he'll stiff you..."
@FFDiehards I love your show on XM. Two things: 1) tell your listeners with limited cell phone coverage not to call.
2) for the people who call with questions that involve multiple players, encourage them to write down the question first. So frustrating when they forget names.
@md_1010xl Mike in Maine here. Football diehards is my fav show. I called in Wed and you mentioned going to ME and having donuts made of potatoes. It's called the Holy Donut. Bring yourself and Bob Harris to ME and I'll treat you guys to a lobster dinner as we talk football. ππ»
