The EasyETFs Global Equity AMETF has returned 26.57% per year annualised since inception in June 2016.
To put that into perspective, an investor who placed R1,000 a month into this fund from June 2016 to today would have contributed R119,000 of their own money. That portfolio would be worth approximately R583,000 today.
The fund has been running since June 2016, making it nearly a decade old. It currently manages R629 million in assets and is listed on the @JSE_Group under the code EASYGE.
The portfolio is 96.14% in foreign equity, with the remaining 3.86% in cash. Over the past 12 months the fund returned 103.21%. Over three years, 53.95% per year annualised. Over five years, 25.65%. Since inception in 2016, 26.57% per year, well ahead of its benchmark, the MSCI All Country World Index, which returned 17.36% over the same period.
The Total Expense Ratio is 0.79%, with a total investment charge of 0.96% when transaction costs are included. The management fee is 0.60%. This is competitive for an actively managed product, where most funds charge between 1% and 2%.
The fund's maximum drawdown has been -30.44%, compared to -12.43% for the benchmark. The fund posted losses of -17.98% in 2022 and -6.60% in 2021 before bouncing back. The recommended holding period is at least 7 years, and that recommendation exists for a reason. This is an aggressive fund and the volatility is real.
