📢 New research just published. The work was a collaboration between @connect_ie, @Smart_D_L & @dlrcc. The research examines public opposition to a major redistributive active travel scheme in DLR. @scienceirel

This is a picture of a segregated cyclelane and footpath I took in Kigali, Rwanda, in October 2023.

Ireland’s longest and shortest work commutes revealed https://t.co/qusr0r7Nfm "...compares with a 23-minute journey for the average employee in Galway city, who enjoys the shortest average commute" "More than 70pc of workers in Galway and Roscommon drive to work" #Transportation
Popped in for a pint on the way home to celebrate the life of the great man #ShaneMacGowan and a lovely shine in a prime position at the bar in the Ol'55 on Prospect Hill in #Galway
The Pogues represented the sounds of the 1980s London-Irish, and I remember feeling a new sense of cultural pride and confidence despite 'the troubles'... a once in a generation songwriter whose lyrics transended the music industry... Rest peacefully Shane, and God speed!
@OisinONidh@mlhynes Questions need to asked, why the IDA design their business parks without full transport access. Been asking questions at City Council level for years. Perhaps I should have also asked the IDA? It is my view that Gluas LRT should pass through both sides of Parkmore on into town!
@mlhynes 7min walk to the bus stop from Parkmore East(should have bus terminus in the #IDA estates. Not the worst for Parkmore. Bus trip into City Centre always takes me double over the bike ( which is sadly only for the brave or foolish up around Parkmore, very hostile environment )

"Parkmore East Business and Technology Park is located, just six kilometres from Galway city centre, with excellent accessibility..."
...that's solved then!
