@TinaYazdani Just like the Davis era “Preserve it. Conserve it” ads that were ruled as partisan ads on the government dime - leading to the Peterson government requiring ads to be screened and cleared as non-partisan. The Tories have since repealed that.
@hwinkler4real This is one of those contractors that Trump would stiff in his Trump Organization days, unless they had mob connections. Now he doesn’t worry because it is the public money.
@Acyn Sounds like it is untreated water directly from Chesapeake Bay, which has been subjected to massive runoff from heavily fertilised farm fields and industrial scale livestock operations.
@guyfelicella Alberta tried a non-means tested UBI during the Great Depression with its “Funny Money” system, but it didn’t have the resources to back it. That was what “Social Credit” actually originally was.
@Emolclause The Ambassador Bridge will also lose business to the Gordie Howe Bridge as the latter will have lower tolls, greater capacity, and it is directly connected to the high volume freeway trunk in Canada to the Interstate in the US. The Ambassador goes to city streets on both ends.
@jmbprime 16%, maybe? What Kim Campbell got in 1993, and even there she thought that she could continue on from a speech she gave six months later - it took the party executive to tell her “No”.
@mehdirhasan@MuellerSheWrote@mehdirhasan You are well familiar with British interviewers and those who tolerate no spinning from any politician or aide. What Trump got from Kristen Welker was relatively deferential compared to what he would face in the UK media, even from yourself when there.
@robertbenzie I remember that even up through the Bill Davis era, being an MLA was considered a part time job, more seasonal than permanent. This allowed MLAs to socialise with voters back home and learn what they wanted of the government, whether they were on the government side or not.
@kwelkernbc@NBCNews@MeetThePress For those saying that you were unfair to him, have them watch British interviews with politicians caught lying. You went easy on him by comparison.
@typocatCAv2 He would never be able to handle the British press, who interrupt forcefully to call out lies and bafflegab and will tell the subject to their face that they are lying. They make Mike Wallace and Edward R Murrow look like fluff profile writers.
@Ivan65073604@Mylovanov They want the Patriots for the ballistic missiles that Russia includes in the attacks. They can deal with the drones and to a degree the cruise missiles through systems that they are making themselves.
@Mikeggibbs It isn’t as big as the ones Husky had over its freeway service stations. Li Ka-shing, when he gained Canadian citizenship, was really proud to show his pride in the new country by ensuring the visibility of those flags.
@PhillipsPOBrien@ChrisAlbertoLaw Remembering back to the early days of the war, the Ruzzians started drones first with buying Shaheeds from Iran, leading to Ukraine buying Turkish drones. Now both of them are making them on their own, with generations of improvements learned from battle experience.
