I'm so grateful to have had Mrs. Hahn from the @LITERACY_SALT team in both of my FSF1P classes today. I love being able to collaborate with the awesome educators in our school board, and I know my students appreciated having a fun and engaging activity to do today.
Very thankful to have had the privilege to listen to Dr. Muhammad Khalifa speak during this morning's PD session. He's left us with so much to consider and act upon.
A little activity I put together for my FSF1P students. The task is to sort the correct adjectif possessif and membre de la famille based on the chart. Each student will get a card to place accordingly.
It's disturbing to me that I didn't learn about them in detail until 12th Grade (in 2013) because of a dedicated teacher with a passion for social justice. The only thing that gives me hope is that I asked my 9th grade students about this today, and they were aware and horrified.
I tried to book my vaccine as an elementary educator in #onted. There is no choice for me on the website. There is no choice for me by phone. Today was supposed to be the day. @Sflecce@fordnation when will we be able to book? Have you forgotten you added us to the list?
One of my talented students was selling hand-painted stones to fundraise for the Downtown Mission. I supported her and ended up with the loveliest piece of art and this note, which was an unexpected surprise. 🥺
My favourite part of my virtual teaching sessions has been checking in with my students to see what is new in their lives or if they have anything that they would like to share. They usually have some hilarious things to tell me.
Calling all #CoreFrench teachers: I'm on the hunt for some review sheets of basic grammar (present tense, p.c., and adjective agreements) that would be suited to my Grade 11 class.
I am proud of my school board for implementing PD training on anti-Black racism. This is an important conversation that requires education and action. For some, this is a good starting point. For others, this is a reminder that we need to continue our work.
