A big thank-you to @MADDNational for a great presentation of highlighting the affects of drinking and driving. Students gained a greater preceptive on the importance of speaking up and driving safely. @shcsparis@mlle_fsl
Some Valentine’s themed structures students teamed up to create. They received 2 pieces of paper, a pair of ✂️ & a glue stick per group. We voted for the structures we thought were most stable & the highest, with reasons for & against each one. #gr3#French#STEM#STIM@shcsparis

A snapshot of what our 3/4s are doing in Math… rounding to the nearest 10, 100, and 1000 (Gr. 4). We talked about real-life situations where rounding is useful and then ss solved the Minds On before practice. Rounding, skip counting, rep. addition & multiplication in 1 question!
Grade 3s took a closer look at various soil samples. What do you notice? What do you wonder? 👀🔎
They found a potato bug in the one sample and discussed how he stayed alive in the non-zipped baggie for over a week. Tout en français! @shcsparis#science#soil
As a step in their narrative writing, Ss focused on using lots of adjectives to describe, and make their character come to life. In this case, it was MONSTERS!🧡💜 Next step, they’ll apply what they’ve learned to their story, after exploring various ways to write an introduction.
Some of our literacy centres from this week as we dive deeper into descriptive writing and paraphrasing what we learned from informational texts read during guided reading. #literacy#writingcentres
Today, our #mindson activity was to create complex repeating patterns with multiple changing attributes, after reviewing what an attribute is and co-creating a list of attributes. Then, we dove into authentic group action tasks before individual practice. #math@shcsparis
On bouge le corps! Some of our centres in Phys. Ed today to practice fitness movements as well as sending & receiving various objects (scoops, bean bags, etc.) at varying distances. #educationphysique#gym
On fait des prédictions en utilisant les images, les connaissances personnelles, et les indices dans le texte. 📖 Ss made predictions using clues & useful words/ phrases to share their thinking with a partner. #french#PredictionPros#literacy@BHNFrench
Our class has learned a lot about patterning and are now applying it to real-life contexts. Our classmate Violet is going to make lots of money dog walking 😉
