In a nutshell π₯₯: I have no filter π
My life is a never-ending series of situations in which I should feel awkward...but don't. It's a gift and a curse ππβ
Then I finally got the hang of it and commented:
"It works when I lean forward and keep my bum up- π¬ To stop myself from sinking!" π±
I am visiting my parents for a week
I have already traumatised them on the first day.
There are no more words (hopefully) π
Kept slipping off my boogie board earlier. This oblivious comment came out of my mouth:
"It needs to be longer and less wide" π
My mum couldn't stop laughing π€£
I think I've actually forgotten how to dye my hair properly. π± It's been two years! π΅
I haven't used any foils or back combed the roots like I normally do! π
Hindsight is a powerful thing. π
Rewatching series 1 of 'Downton Abbey' and I swear that every time Matthew interacts with Mary, I can almost hear Louis Tomlinson singing, "I'm one step closer to being two steps far from you; when everybody wants you."β£οΈπ₯
Whilst I love the village where my parents live, there is very little to do. So much so that I considered getting a #tattoo at the shop between a little cafe and the tram station π
@AprilKihlstrom Thanks π I think we used to have spinner rings at school. The SEND department had these spinning keyrings - are those the same?
But fidget spinners got confiscated. They ended up becoming a fashion accessory, as did those popping rubber things π
Alright, as #autistic is trending, I might as well share some recent thoughts... π€
Since I started getting spots (about 10+ years ago), they have not gone away. Over those years I have heard many variations of unsolicited advice. The most notable suggestions being...
So, to conclude with my rant:
Stimming is a way of coping in various situations. I am not someone with "skin issues" who needs advice on getting rid of spots. I am someone who needs to find a different outlet to cope in a world that was not built for those who are #autistic π
As it is a socially unacceptable behaviour, although I can get away with it in the dark watching the TV, I cannot do it directly in front of someone whilst they are speaking.
But don't get me wrong: it is as tempting as hell! I have definitely tried. ππ
