@iamharaldur I agree with this and didn't change it, but it means by default I won't have the same last name as my kids.
It's tough to choose between keeping my identity and identifying as my child's mother. Or totally going against societal norms.
Men, by default, get both.
@AdrienneNakohl I find conferences can involve a lot of drinking. And I'm more comfortable networking with a drink or food in my hand. So I order a drink I don't really like and it takes me forever to finish it, keeping me sober and hand tied.
@Laydee_El I have had fabulous experiences and often tell people I travel solo but that doesn't mean I'm alone.
I highly recommend staying in hostels, or if that's not your jam just stop by a hostel bar. You will find all kinds of people who may become company for hours or days!
@dariankovacs I only had 1. And I can only think of 1 who taught core subjects. The rest were teaching indigenous language, arts or indigenous counselors.
@mmendeswrites @realBrookNash We call this the "nappuccino"
(and actively ignore the fact that you aren't having a cappuccino beforehand because the name is so good)
@mkobach Plus every time you travel you would have to figure out what time shops open in that location, when sunrise / typical breakfast is, etc.
And jet lag would still exist as you change you sleeping schedule to daylight hours in that location.
@mkobach It's way easier to say "you're 8 hours ahead" and automatically know the general outline of the day (start work sometime ~8-9am, finish ~ 5pm, etc.) then it is to have to establish those parameters.
