🇺🇸🇵🇸 “If they can do this to an American congressman, what can they do to Palestinians?”

Rep. Ro Khanna (CA-17) was detained for over an hour near Khirbet Zanuta in the occupied West Bank after armed settlers carrying American-made M4 rifles surrounded his van. Khanna said the IDF soldiers who arrived knew an American congressman was in the vehicle and still sided with the settlers rather than helping. Khanna’s group was only released after the U.S. Embassy intervened.

During his days in the West Bank, including Hebron, Bethlehem, Beit Sahour, and Turmus Ayya, Khanna says he witnessed a “culture of impunity.”

He visited the school in Al-Mughayyir, where a 14-year-old boy and a 32-year-old man were killed by settler gunfire earlier this year, and met with Palestinian American families who’ve lost children to Israeli military and settler violence, including the family of Mohammed Zaher Ibrahim, a 16-year-old American citizen from Florida who was held in Israeli prison for over nine months without trial and returned home starving.

Khanna compared the West Bank to the days of Jim Crow in the United States, and says that Americans need to come to the West Bank and see “the apartheid in the West Bank with their own eyes.”

The Norwegian Football Association donated every net ticket dollar from the match to Doctors Without Borders for emergency medical relief in Gaza. Its president, Lise Klaveness, said the federation “cannot and will not be indifferent” to the humanitarian suffering.

Norway also became one of the few national federations to publicly argue that Israel should face sanctions in international football.

Their 5–0 rout all but ended Israel’s hopes of reaching this World Cup.

Some teams carry the courage to say that human dignity matters beyond the final whistle.

This little girl was one of many.

While doctors rushed to treat the wounded around her, I asked one of them: “Is her condition more critical than the others?”

His answer still echoes in my mind: “She has severe brain tissue damage and internal bleeding inside her head. We have no way to treat her. We have to leave her until she dies.”

Imagine how many children and patients were left waiting for death simply because there were no equipment, no medicine, and no possibility of treatment.

I witnessed scenes like this while trapped inside Nasser Hospital and before that during the siege of Al-Shifa Hospital. I cannot imagine what the families felt—if they were still alive. In this video, the medical team was treating her sister beside her, while she lay there with no chance to receive the care she desperately needed.

This is only one story among thousands—stories that were buried beneath the overwhelming flood of daily news, but they deserve to be told.'
