If you are wondering about the motivation behind OscarWatch and its suite of tools.

@amsat_sm I am so fed up with having to run so many external apps to just complete QSOs.. its coming in house

Well this happened.. Oscarwatch Terminal has its own 1200 baud soundcard modem designed for space.

🤣😄

[Nestor N6CKC @n6ckc]

@mm9sql I downloaded the software last night about 20 minutes before an FO-29 pass. It took me about 5 minutes to setup the IC-9700 and the RT-21 Green Heron controller. How much easier than that could it be !?
Next is FT4 on RS-44. FO-29 is a no go for digital per AMSAT-JA.

[Peter (MM9SQL) @mm9sql]

@n6ckc Sorry it took 5mins, I will aim to make it faster

Ok that's rather neat

13 cm DATV with just an Android phone and two cheap ESP32 boards, no PC 📡📺

ATV RX/TX is an open-source app:

📥 RX: an ESP32-S3 on USB OTG samples the 2.4 GHz band; leandvb on the phone demodulates DVB-S2 (QPSK/8PSK, 40–500 kS/s) and shows the picture, spectrum, constellation and MER
📤 TX: the ESP32-C3's own Wi-Fi radio is the transmitter. The phone encodes the camera or a test card to H.264 and DVB-S2 itself and streams the symbols to the C3
📌 Stand-alone beacon: record a loop with your callsign on the phone and store it in the C3; it then transmits by itself after every power-up
🔧 Firmware for both boards is flashed straight from the app

Based on SP8ESA's ESP32-DATV and TA7W's ESP32-DATV-SA. Thanks!

@NE6ZULU Yes

[Peter (MM9SQL) @mm9sql]

@2E0CRV I need to do a video to explain it but I am terrible at such things

[Peter (MM9SQL) @mm9sql]

@2E0CRV If you call someone and they reply with report it should auto-sequence reply..

The AP lines are where it got most of the decode but had to guess the rest; if it's not 90% sure, it won't auto-sequence on those

[Peter (MM9SQL) @mm9sql]

@2E0CRV If you hit tune, do you see the carrier in the pass band? if you dont you need to adjust the TX offset or the RX offsets either or

[Peter (MM9SQL) @mm9sql]

@rmarianoa Oh? what makes this one better than the previous ones
