Chantal Spencer presenting 'Rethinking Participatory Design Research Methodologies' and minimising the burden of change on the shoulders of the oppressed. #RSD11
@shannonmattern Similar thing happened at a transit corridor redesign meeting. There are so many good and dedicated people working in political office at local, state, and national levels. It’s a pity and shame that outrageous clowns get the most news coverage.
@LadyJayPersists I think that sticker is supposed to be funny/ironic. PO2 is too low a rank to be snotty about... and as a vet, I never met anyone who addresses military spouses by any rank whatsoever.
@cwodtke Dialogue by William Isaacs (very practical), also Learning to Learn by Gloria Flores (practical & perspective shifting!). Having done +100s though, reading about facilitation is very different from doing it. Best to get a few basic techniques and then try.
@shannonmattern @DrLisaCorrigan Support staff in higher ed, both research and administration, are treated is as a budgetary problem — labor costs that can and should be cut to "optimize the value" the university produces. It's not a sustainable practice from any perspective.
@AOC I agree with the basis of your anger, but we cannot react to the actions of the oligarchs damaging our democracy by damaging democracy further. The Court as an institution is not the problem. Bad-faith actors on the Court/Senate/House are.
We are witnessing a judicial coup in process.
If the President and Congress do not restrain the Court now, the Court is signaling they will come for the Presidential election next.
All our leaders - regardless of party - must recognize this Constitutional crisis for what it is.
