Emperor Akbar (Mughal Empire) issued these gold coins around 1604–1605 CE to mark his golden jubilee.

One side featured Lord Rama (with bow and arrow) and Sita, while the other had Arabic/Persian inscriptions (including "Amardad Ilahi" referring to the Divine Era).

It was a symbol of his syncretic "Din-i-Ilahi" philosophy and respect for diverse traditions.

Classic example of Mughal cultural fusion! 🪙
