I immediately go silent when something upsets me. it's a coping mechanism I have developed over time. instead of expressing my anger or frustration, I simply withdraw and try to process my emotions in private. I prefer handling my problems on my own.
“you can survive a mass shooting: if you’re prepared.” how is this acceptable? are we just supposed to be paranoid & hyper alert every time we leave the house? supposed to train our children to do the same? train kids to come up with a fighting strategy instead of banning guns?

Stop trying to understand why people have hurt you, and start accepting the fact that they’ve done it. They’ve betrayed you. They’ve disrespected you and their actions have said “fuck you.” Stop dwelling on why they did it and start moving on. It has to do with THEM, not you.
Romantic relationships can become a parent-child relationship if we aren’t aware.

I think one of the healthiest things I’ve ever learned is that you should allow others to reintroduce themselves to you, even your closest friends. Give people space to become who they are without assuming you know who they are just bc you’ve been friends/family for years
