Interesting that some regard “profit” as a dirty word. Founding shareholders of our clinic have donated over $200 million from their “profits” in operating successful businesses to the public health system. The new St. Paul’s Hospital is being built on land held by another two of our founders. They purchased the land many decades ago for $20m and sold it recently to St. Paul’s for same price. Current value well over $500 m.
Businesses who makes profits pay taxes the pay for services like healthcare.
