The Neoliner Origin set off on its inaugural two-week voyage from France to the US with the aim of revolutionising the notoriously dirty shipping industry.

what an adventure — hurricane-force winds, dolphins and sea sickness ahoy!https://t.co/6A8XrL7p2y

In an abandoned military barracks in rural Germany, Ben Green is preparing for the end of the world. For @Hazlitt, @mmcavanagh spent a week with him to find out what exactly it looks like to try to escape climate collapse: https://t.co/Fkjc6TfFK8
a year later i’m still asking myself: how can we cope with uncertainty as we oscillate between doom and hope?
i’m grateful to have had the chance to work it out for @hazlitt: https://t.co/e6ZQcy5Tme
(and to @ameliaschonbek for the clear-eyed and thoughtful edits!)
last summer i spent a week living in an old army barracks-turned-eco-bunker, deep in the east german forest.
i was there for the Collapse Laboratory, a retreat that brought people together to think about how to prepare for the end of the world.
at the Collapse Laboratory, ben gathered like-minded people who believed that climate collapse wasn’t just imminent, it was happening now — and that we needed to think deeply about how to show up for it. i was curious.
i'm working on a project that does exactly this. it's great to see this expressed so clearly and urgently, and i agree: we desperately need stories that explore the emotional landscape of the climate crisis to show us how to live right now.
