I heard our future Premier @MaritStiles speaking tonight about building affordable housing, fixing our schools, protecting farmland, and rebuilding public healthcare.
Ontario deserves a government that cares about all of us, not just wealthy donors.
Far too many parents in #OntEd are being asked to keep their vulnerable child with complex needs home or to only attend school part-time because of insufficient staffing to keep their child safe.
This is not okay.
Please fix this, @JillDunlop1.
@JillDunlop1 Please also fix the existing older schools with condemned ventilation systems, lead in the drinking water, windows that don’t open, leaking rooftops and windows, mold and mildew, crumbling walls…
@primetimebird@ESL_fairy Retired administrator here. Kimiko is exactly 100% right. Many admin are spending the weekend looking for EA’s to fill gaps for the short and long term. It is the students that suffer.
@breakfasttv The best kept secret is that schools already had these rules in place. This is a brilliant PR strategy to detract from the fact that violent incident reports have gone up significantly in Ontario schools with the cuts to specialized supports and programming for vulnerable kids.
@CityNewsKIT “Cambridge school and New Dundee school both score 10/10 - both ranked first in the province.” Fixed the headline for you.
The embedded article from the F.I. is also misleading.
@bk_2011_bk The school year calendar is directed by the Ministry of Education and has specific parameters. I agree, completing the training, with proper compensation, would help.
