It isn’t an easy start this year. There are many unanswered questions, countless unknowns and constant last minute changes. But, one thing is certain… we will be kind and comforting as your children enter their home away from home tomorrow. We will do the best we can. Promise.
PDSB’s response to local and international tragedies has been inconsistent, and we apologize for missed opportunities to recognize horrific incidents that have deeply affected members of the PDSB community.
There has been a back and forth for the past few days between paediatricians pushing for schools to reopen for the sake of kids’ mental health and educators concerned about safety.

I've been fighting so adamantly against @PeelSchools adopting a "hybrid" model that I forgot that next year might also be the last year they support Google Classroom! Why does it feel like someone is always trying to make my job harder than it needs to be?😬
We have received some questions regarding what model the UGDSB will be using for remote schools next year. Please note that the UGDSB remote learning program for the 2021-22 school year will NOT be a “hybrid model.” Please see our website for more info: https://t.co/cloJrIsWKF
If something requires a lot of extra work and produces a low quality, almost useless product, one would think it shouldn’t be an option on the table.
@Sflecce allows hybrid models to be offered in school boards across #onted. Students deserve better than this. @ETFOeducators
Community Learning Model = Hybrid learning. What's that? Students in school + students online + ONE TEACHER (the same teacher). Look at the math. Parents- know what you're getting yourself into when you choose "online learning" for 2021-2022. It's not the program you're used to.
Let’s be perfectly clear - no board that announces the hybrid model as an option for September cares about staff, students, or education. The hybrid model is a cheap way to do what Lecce wants and hasn’t funded. It is easy for the board but a disaster for education. #untenable
@MmeHannikainen@mrskearney4@ETFOPeel Many online teachers asked to work online due to medical conditions that put them at higher risk of complications (and death) from Covid19.
