To answer my own question, mine has been separating my sense of self from my work, which I think is counterintuitive to a lot of us. In case anyone needs to hear it, it's okay to take more care of Regular You than Teacher You.
Hey #langchat, what strategies worked this semester to take care of yourselves during pandemic teaching? What will you change? What will you keep doing?
Reflecting on 2020 and I am eternally grateful to @indylibrary and the @iulangworkshop for giving me ways to see the world without leaving home. It's a tough year but I read and learned a lot!
I want to finish 2020 with gratitude. Today, I was so pleased to see that practically every student turned in their last big essay of the semester on time. I'm grateful for their hard work (and confident we'll get to 100% completion!).

Just remembered this meme again and it's.... accurate (and hilarious). This is very honestly the story of me and Spanish. Thinking of how to better encourage that risk-taking with students! #langchat#languagelearninggoals
Just finished "Factfulness" and cannot recommend it enough to teachers, particularly those of us touching on global / cultural issues. #globaledchat#langchat https://t.co/pxBV2tpY2i
It's an exciting first for our French sister school partnership - a former short-term exchange student will come spend a year in the United States with us! #zcsstrong#studyabroad#zchsglobal
Hooray, Société Honoraire de Français materials came in! Thankfully all of their website's warnings not to wait to the last minute to order worked on me! #langchat
“If your students [go on a global trip but] can’t begin to analyze/address complex issues in their own backyard, we are doing students a disservice.” ~Nicole Webster of @penn_state#GSL5
Any other AP French teachers out there developing (or have developed) resources to go with the documentary Visages Villages (Faces Places)? Or advice when you don't have access to a subtitle-less version of something? #langchat#frenchteachers
Loved this workshop - so many thoughtful, reflective, challenging discussions. Can't wait for more with the start of the GSL 5 Summit! #gsl5 https://t.co/5EfjlGqCTm
