Some of our students/staff that took part in a 15k rucksack walk this past wknd, one of many taking place across Canada. The purpose of the March was to raise awareness and funds for the Wounded Warriors of Canada. A challenge well accomplished Vikings!
A huge shoutout to Mrs. Emond for winning a recent Subway competition where students wrote in and recommended inspiring teachers. As a result of the win, she not only was awarded a $100 gift card, but she also won a subway lunch for the entire staff. Way to go, Mrs. Emond!
IB CAS students recently walked to the Broad Brook Wetland Park to place their positive rock creations along the trail. They continued on to the cenotaph to place wreaths from our school and poppy painted rocks in remembrance of those who served for our country.
On Monday, grade 11 and 12 IB students participated in a webinar in which Holocaust survivor Judy Abrams (on screen right) answered questions. We were each given a copy of Judy’s memoir, Tenuous Threads. This type of experience really brings history to life!
Alex, Callum, & Lucas were each recently awarded the Duke of Edinburgh International Award. This global program helps develop skills to improve themselves and their communities through many hours of physical activities, outdoor projects, and volunteer work. Well done, Vikings!
We all owe a lot to Donna, Cory, Joelyn, Krista, Brenda, Miranda, Shirley, Stephanie, Kendra, Fallon, Dawn, Cynthia, Amy, Peggy, and Joanne, and the YCMHS community is a much better place because of who they are and what they do. Thank you to each and every one of them 👏

A big shout out to our senior girls cross country team for capturing the banner as the top sr girls XC team west of Halifax! We had four runners in the top 15 including Paris (bronze medallist, advancing to provincials), Ellie (9th), Janaya (14th), & Rayanne (15th)!

Emilie, Madeline, & Hannah all got Zoom calls this morn that not only told them they have they been accepted to Mount A, but also that together they accounted for $44,000 in scholarships (each given at least $12,000)! Great work, & congratulations, Vikings (soon to be Mounties)!
We’re very thankful for all the awesome work Melissa does for our school in the cafeteria! She provides delicious food options at reasonable prices, and she does it while being fun and generous!
