We’ve had an exciting few weeks in 3W. We finished our structures unit with an egg drop challenge with our buddies. We started investigating plants and soils and had a visit from our art teacher Mr. West, who taught us how to paint Mi’kmaq art with clay like Barbara Reid.
Another great week @SmokeyDrive. Students had the opportunity to participate in an African drumming workshop yesterday. Lots of learning and fun to be had!

Thanks @GreenSchools_NS for teaching us to how to bundle up and save energy! We enjoyed an outdoor scavenger hunt today and then had various opportunities to play both outdoors and in for Global Play Day!
We had a great week of learning in 3 Walker @SmokeyDrive. We tuned in to Ellie Black’s Q&A chat on zoom, and celebrated literacy day by stop,drop and read and flashlight reading with our buddies!
We started procedural writing this week in 3 Walker! Today we read a book on how to make ice cream, followed the instructions and made homemade ice cream with salt, ice, cream and milk. Next week we will write the recipe and bring it home to try with our families!

This group of kiddos @SmokeyDrive are loving story workshop! We’ve had two sessions working on telling a story with a beginning, middle and end. Tomorrow we start to write our spooky stories! Thanks @mrs_flick for this engaging pd!
Remembering why we wear orange shirts today in 3 Walker. Students also created talking pieces inspired by Mi’kmaq artist Alan Syliboy. We will use these talking pieces during our circles throughout the month of October.
