@emzanotti Day 8 with no power here. Slated for up to 7 more days. Two young kids (4 & 7), a sweet senior dog (10.5) and their grown ups (physicians serving VUMC & the State of TN) are desperate to get back home. It's a simple repair of a severed line between 2 NES poles.
@tnnaterau Thank you! I hope they are placing many people, would just be curious as to the number placed and average time to placement. Appreciate your diligence!

Tragic news reported from Laos as a 6th tourist dies after suspected methanol poisoning. Sobering reminder of the health risks from methanol ingestion. We reported on 2 deaths from methanol intoxication in Tennessee several years ago in the @CDCMMWR: https://t.co/L8Rw0lW9Tl.

And many thanks to Dr. Reingold (@california_eip) for a beautiful tribute to Dr. William Schaffner who has handed over the reins of @VUMChealth EIP leadership in TN after many years. Dr. Schaffner is a national treasure, and I feel fortunate to have him as a mentor & colleague.
Wonderful to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the @CDCgov Emerging Infections Program in Tennessee (a longstanding partnership between @TNDeptofHealth & @VUMChealth). The EIP network provides essential population-based, active surveillance data for diverse pathogens.
