We carry the same pride and hope as those who came before us for a Somalia that’s peaceful, strong, and free. Our resilience today will be our strength tomorrow, inshallah Happy 1st July! 🇸🇴

The US labelled him a terrorist without a single piece of evidence because its decision to ban him backfired. Instead, it ended up making him the most famous referee in the world.
🏆 Referee announced for 2026 #SuperCup!
We're pleased to share that Somali referee Omar Artan will officiate the highly anticipated match between PSG and Aston Villa in Salzburg.
The new colonial power in Somalia, represented by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, openly boasts about exploiting Somalia’s natural resources for the benefit of the Turkish people, even claiming that Turkey will become one of the world’s leading oil-producing nations.
It is important to understand that the oil he speaks of is widely believed to be the oil that will be extracted from Somalia. 🇸🇴
I therefore call upon the Somali people to remain vigilant and safeguard their national resources, sovereignty, and economic future from foreign exploitation.

What a speech.
Former President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo reminded the nation what true leadership and statesmanship look like. History will remember this moment.
He spoke with clarity and humility about his own determination to deliver one-person-one-vote elections, but also about the difficult responsibility of governing a fragile nation. Faced with the real risk of political rupture, he chose compromise over confrontation — accepting a less-than-ideal electoral model because keeping Somalia united mattered more than personal or political victory.
He recalled the consultations he held with former presidents and national leaders, demonstrating that leadership requires listening, humility, and respect for collective wisdom. He also walked the country through how the Dhusamareeb I, II, and III conferences came about and how those difficult negotiations ultimately produced a political agreement that preserved national cohesion at a critical moment.
The message was unmistakable: power is temporary, but the nation is permanent.
At a time when Somalia needs unity, consultation, and restraint, President Farmaajo showed what it means to put country before self. @MrDuqa@M_Farmaajo
Both sad and sweet! 🇹🇷 In Turkey, during an amateur league match in Istanbul, a goalkeeper accidentally hit a seagull with the ball.
A player from one of the teams performed CPR on the bird and saved its life🙏
I’m ok. I’m a survivor so this small agitator isn’t going to intimidate me from doing my work.
I don’t let bullies win.
Grateful to my incredible constituents who rallied behind me. Minnesota strong.
