The moment we, as a society, realize that footballers are human beings and that our words online have a real mental impact on their confidence is the moment we can truly move forward.
It’s unbelievable that a player who has been world-class this season is receiving so much abuse from so-called Atlético fans—his own fan base, from the people of the club where he grew up, The last thing he needed at such a crucial stage of the season was this kind of treatment.
Do you seriously think a professional footballer isn’t self-aware? He has a coach like Simeone to guide him, and with his own maturity, he will eventually recognize and improve upon his mistakes.
This is the stage of the season where we should be supporting every player, not sending abuse their way. Criticism is fine, but going beyond that is unacceptable.
Do better.

Precioso.
