@1957_Rick@__mofiyinfoluwa To bad the mom isn’t focused on buying her girl books to shape her mind instead of beads to shape her mind. This IS sexualization - the practice was originally intended to ensure that a girl develop the type of figure that would be attractive to a man to ensure she found a mate!
@Lamziea1@__mofiyinfoluwa A tradition that was meant to shape a girl’s look and figure to be attractive to men and ensure she find a mate in the future is DEFINITELY sexualization!
@badeodutola @__mofiyinfoluwa@Dominique_Zoey Agree! I can’t believe people are saying that this isn’t sexualization! They aren’t doing it in hopes that the other babies will take notice! It was traditionally done to ensure a girl would eventually be able to attract a husband or mate!
@TalktoRichy @__mofiyinfoluwa So I suppose you would be quick to defend the actions of Nazi, Germany because they were expressing their culture. The word “culture” is not automatically synonymous with “correctness”.
@__mofiyinfoluwa “Culture” is used to excuse all sorts of sick practices. Just because something is done by particular group of people doesn’t automatically make it OK. Slavery was a HUGE part of Colonial American culture. Are you “culturists” claiming THAT was OK because it was our culture?!
@lxvelxy@1957_Rick@MrigPng@__mofiyinfoluwa Agree! People use culture to excuse all sorts of sick behavior. Slavery was a HUGE part of American culture during the Colonial era - but now we realize that it was wrong! Cultural practices are not automatically OK just because they are isolated by a particular group of people!
@PamelaT89384834@violentlyepic Um - you have no clue how the legal system works. Lawyers defend guilty clients all the time WITH absolute knowledge that they are guilty. They often times are just trying to get them a lighter sentence or highlight extenuating circumstances.
