What have I been up to? Playing Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma and Mouse: PI for Hire. Both great games. Played the demo for Pragmata. Pretty decent. Keeps freezing on my desktop, though. Hopefully Proton gets an update. Also been cooking over on the blog.
Someone tried (poorly) to hack into my old Reddit alt that I probably haven't logged into since before the beer bug. I mean, have fun with that? I ended up deleting the account.
Went into EB Games today. They had like ten used copies of Kirby and the Forgotten Land on the shelf for $75 Canadian Kopeks. A four year old game. $5 off regular. Gee, I wonder why they aren't moving.
Seeing talk of ludicrous regulations on home 3D Printing, a reminder that regulations exist to aid big business and almost always result in less consumer choice.
@Android@GooglePlay No, but as a FOSS supporter and long time Android power user, I would like to keep sideloading apps. But you guys seem hell bent on further enshittifying the platform. Might as well just go back to Crapple. At least I'll get long term OS updates.
It's an important reminder that the purpose of these internet ID laws is to stifle free speech for adults, not to protect kids. The politicians treating orphans like a pin cushion don't give a rat's ass if your child accidentally see tits.
ID to access general websites is like a forcing a Circle K to hire bouncers because the store also sells dirty magazines.
ID to even access a computer is like barring kids from a mall because there's a store that sells dirty magazines, even if they're just there to buy jeans.
Just a reminder that this has nothing to do with protecting children, but about controlling what law abiding adults can and can't do, or say. Remember half the ppl making these rules were in the files.
I did see the controversy over Xenoblade X's Switch 2 "upgrade". Can't say that I'm surprised. $5 to get a slight FPS and res boost, yet it still apparently has issues, is cheeky but very much on brand for Nintendo.
If Microslop puts all their eggs in the AI basket, there's a good chance they might not even exist in five years. Nobody uses or wants to use Co-Pilot. The board needs to fire Nadella.
In an interview with Gamesbeat, one of Xbox's co-founders, Seamus Blackley, speculated that Xbox is being sunsetted to focus on AI. I think everyone has suspected this, but like I said a while ago, having even less competition is bad for gaming.

My advice to Xbox
-Fire Phil Spencer and Sarah Bond and get someone who knows what they're doing
-Cancel all these AAA trash-fests and focus on more affordable AA games
-Get some legit family friendly titles going to rival Nintendo
-Can the DEI crap. We know you don't believe it
