Google is great!! Every time someone wants to know something, it is on tap away. But sometimes it can make you paranoid. For example, if you have certain symptoms you don’t know if you can google them. But after 5 minutes you self diagnose yourself with 6 months to live
@elbaz_oren Onlines are a great thing but I find it really hard because I have to have the motivation to do the work and listen to the lecture and do the readings. Whereas in class there are better explanations from teachers and questions from students that help us better understand
@elbaz_oren I know someone who took BIO 203 2 years ago in class and just this year it became an online. Compared to 2 years ago the material isn’t the same and the student I know taking it now is more confused because they feel they haven’t gotten all the info necessary for the exams
I used to always be on my phone at social gatherings but the past couple months I’ve reduced my usage around other quite a bit and it really makes a difference. I really am able to enjoy whatbis going on around me more and not have to worry about what’s going on on my phone
Even though we’re the generation that’s known to be on our phones all the time I see a lot of parents on social media too and on their phones quite often, even more than me sometimes
@tarek_tayeh Yes and even at that I find it uncommon for people to call anymore. Usually it’s texting, snap message, insta DM which takes up a lot more time to reply
Snapchat is one of my social media accounts I use on a daily basis. I remember when it we were able to see who our top 3 friends were. They took that out and now we have geofilters and maps. Which do you find is more an invasion of privacy?
@tarek_tayeh For sure!! I question the motive for those who keep it on. It’s scary knowing everyone can see where you are at any time of the day they want
1937: First Disney princess movie (Snow White)
2009: First black Disney princess (Tiana)
2016: First normally proportioned princess + protagonist without a love interest
Disney has come a long away but there is so much more development to happen within the franchise!!
Going back to the beginning of the course, it was fun to learn about where the big social media platforms came from and how they emerged to be come so popular. As well knowing what came before them and how they were revolutionized as what we know them today
@debbiepolitakis I find most of the time it’s stupid stuff that get recognized which is kind of sad when there are better things to pay attention to. For example, the yodelling Walmart kid, the hot guy from target, damn Daniel
@RealYasinIsmail@TinaAndrian12 Very true. I feel like all social media platforms are all so similar now with the locations, likes/comments, live videos, stories... and yet we still use them all
@felicia_conu Even though there are technical difficulties that come with it? And for example with the watch, and even just smart phones, I hear people saying they don’t even know how to tell time anymore on an analog clock
@BouletAnnette @DDufour_EDUC307 @Gmail_ConU For sure!! Google slides is very good and so is Prezi. I’ve gained a strong love for presentations after discovering it
@DDufour_EDUC307 @Gmail_ConU Agreed!! In my last year of elementary I remember smart boards being in every class and teacher encouraging us to make our presentations on PowerPoint so it can be shown to the whole class that way
@spiro_rosss Also very true!! I find we are so engaged and almost obsessed with seeing what people post and who is living the “best” life based off of their social media that we forget to concentrate on our lives
@adiplacido18 That lesson really opened up my eyes because I knew hate speech existed but I just didn’t realize to what extent people would go to stay such things
