I want to thank @NetflixSA and @stainedglasstv_ for taking my story from print to film. This is such a surreal moment for me!!
#ThePolygamist is my debut novel, the book that got rejected by many publishers. So I took a bet on myself and self published. The bet paid off!!
Sdumo really chewed this Jonasi role.
If this was 1999, he wouldn't make it out of his house - the aunties would've caught him at Shoprite 😭 #ThePolygamist

The last time Sdumo Mtshali played a character this evil was in Isithunzi.
He absolutely nailed his role as Jonasi Gomora. No matter how much you try to like the character, he keeps doing things that make you hate him even more.
Sdumo Mtshali was brilliant and embodied the character so well. This is the kind of role that makes viewers hate the character so much that they almost forget it’s just an actor playing a part.
The ending was incredibly satisfying, and Jonasi deserved every bad thing that happened to him.
Boss: “You're 10 minutes late.”
Employee: “I stayed an hour late yesterday to finish your ‘urgent’ job.”
Boss: “That's appreciated... but rules are rules.”
Employee: “Understood.”
The next day ⬇️
It's Game of Thrones and it's not really an argument. This show was a cultural juggernaut, every week the whole internet watched together, it was endlessly quoted, children were named after the characters, and no one brings it up anymore because the last season was so awful.
