My hope for Iran is that all the terrorists inside the country who are killing the people of Iran are gone, and that the vital foundations of a dignified life and the hopes of the people for a better future endure.

A society grows great when old men plant trees, the shade of which they know they will never sit in. Good people do things for other people. That's it. The end.
Hope is a revolutionary patience. Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work : you don't give up.
Each of us is responsible for truth. We cannot delegate that responsibility to an outer world that we imagine to be entirely separate from ourselves, nor to an inner world that we imagine to be completely private.
🔴 Tomorrow afternoon.
Parliament will debate the brutal violence in Iran, where authorities have used lethal force against protesters.
Watch the debate live on this account.
The message of the Islamic Republic to all thinkers, intellectuals, critics, and rational voices is this:
We do not care about your words or arguments. Your words mean nothing to us. We will do what we want, regardless of the cost. You speak, we kill.

I am old enough to have watched the moon landing live and have seen every great and important event ever since. This revolution will be one of the greatest events of my lifetime. I cannot wait to celebrate the Iranian people's victory.
The reports of violence, arbitrary arrests, and intimidation tactics by the Iranian regime against its own people are profoundly concerning. Canada strongly condemns the killing of protesters, and urges Iran to allow for freedom of expression and peaceful assembly without fear of reprisal.
Highly recommended for those interested. In my view, it offers a fair analysis of the current situation in Iran. He notes three key indicators that could lead to the regime’s fall:
1-Size of protests
2-Defection of high-ranking figures
3-Fissures in the chain of command
My interview on CBC's Power and Politics: because of growing street protests & heavy geopolitical losses, the Islamic Republic is in a heavily vulnerable position. Regime collapse is not imminent, but this is extremely hard to predict.
