Junior at Michigan State University studying Elementary Education with a teachable major in Language Arts and a minor in TESOL! A RT does not equate endorsement
The thing about grace is that it gives people the opportunity to admit that they got it wrong. Without grace, there can be no reckoning or reconciliation.
Today in Y6 we looked at poems that could be read forwards & backwards. I was stunned by this one written by one of my 10 year olds. Please share - I would love her work to be appreciated further afield. I wonder if it could even find a publisher?
25 consecutive years—and still #1! The MSU College of Education is the nation's leader in elementary and secondary education, according to @usnews: https://t.co/DyXYCBkHfu
@weinerabby@tyLanasaurusrex Hi Abby! I agree with this. It also extends to the educator. If the educator is good at problem solving it should be relatively easy for them to change their curriculum to shape their students needs. #PSTPLN#CEP416
@MathisonMara@tyLanasaurusrex Mara, I know others already commented on this but I too love that you mentioned the mental/emotional benefits of developing problem solving skills! This isn't something I always think of right off the bat but it is super important!! #PSTPLN#CEP416
@caitlindavidcep Caitlin, I had a pretty similar response! I think with something as important as critical thinking, that we should make a conscious effort to include technology because it is important to think critically about technology and it's usage by those around us. #PSTPLN#CEP416
#PSTPLN A3 (cont): And similar to how technology allows us to expand our professional networks, technology allows students a great expanse of possible tools that can aid in problem solving. #CEP416 (pt2/2)
#PSTPLN A3: Hello! Problem solving is not just a skill needed to prepare students for a certain field later in life. Problem is a skill needed by everyone for life in general. This is a critical skill that people need to learn and harness to be truly successful #CEP416 (pt1/?)
@missvillarrealt @GabbyBrandt2 @tyLanasaurusrex When I read the question, conferences/conventions didn't even occur to me! They are also amazing ways to expand networks! #PSTPLN#CEP416
@RosieinEdu Rosie, I love this twist on the question. I think it is important to remember that even though we are still in school 'learning' how to be educators that we can still bring something to the table (in person or online). #PSTPLN#CEP416
@shinm_in_mn@tyLanasaurusrex Shin, I agree! Even just in the past day or two I've already come across (and saved) recommendations for books and online resources that other teachers have shared! #PSTPLN#CEP416
@shinm_in_mn Not to be creepy replying to something from a year and a half ago but back in high school I used to always say that the cover was my favorite part of that book haha!
#PSTPLN A2: professors & grad students/peers here at Michigan State if I like their pedagogy and forming a longstanding connection with them. The same with anyone I come across online. I need to do more than simply follow people, I need to try to engage in discussions #CEP416 pt2
I forgot to introduce myself yesterday but I am Laura Muggio, a junior at MSU! #PSTPLN A2: I know that I am in touch with various teachers I had growing up in K-12 so that was sort of like my first step in growing mine unintentionally. From there just reaching to (pt 1/?) #CEP416
Congrats to @msgboyd our Monday #PSTPLN bonus challenge winner. Please DM your address so I can send you the gift card. I used the random name picker from @ABCyaGames, a tool you can use in your classroom. #PSTPLNBC#cep416#ci5307
Every yr during our preservice teacher Twitter chat I get to hear insightful thoughts on networking, teaching/learning with tech from our students. This is a great eg-"It's good to recognize that we don't need to do it (build our networks) all at once" 😀#PSTPLN#CEP416#MSUepet
