Woollum is a member of the #CNU athletic Hall of Fame and was inducted into the USA South Hall of Fame last month.

Woollum was also #CNU's men's basketball coach for 26 years, winning 502 games before retiring in 2010.

That award is given to the school with the best program-wide won-loss record in Virginia among all D-III and D-II schools.

#CNU has also won the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame Achievement Award 9 times in the last 14 years.

#CNU has won the USA South President's Cup, given to the conference's best overall athletic program, for 15 straight years.

One of Woollum's last acts as AD was to oversee #CNU's move from the USA South to the Capital Athletic Conference.

The Captains added football, women's soccer, field hockey, and men's and women's lacrosse during Woollum's tenure as AD.

Woollum has overseen #CNU's transition from a D-III school offering 14 spots to a 23-sport championship contender.

Jon Waters, a 13-year #CNU administrator, will serve as interim AD through June 30. A nationwide search will begin July 1.

Woollum will transition into a role of director of athletics emeritus, focusing on alumni and advancement.
